PRODUCTION PHOTOS
My directing style culls concepts and choices directly from the text. If I can’t support an idea with something from the text of the play, I’ll find a different idea. Cast and crew should always have a ready answer to the question— “How does this choice tell the story?”
Under that umbrella, though, is a wide range of options. All things being equal, I tend toward the bold and vibrant, the energetic, the colorful, and especially the whimsical. I find that serious moments often go down easier when juxtaposed with levity. I tend to avoid realism— I love to find opportunities to present objects (and performers) in untraditional and creative ways.
